A musician with many and varied talents, Rick Trolsen is the kind of musician that enjoys having fun. But more importantly, he likes his audience to have fun. He aims to please. Rick learned all about that down in New Orleans, where he has lived and played since the early 80's"; a long time to soak up that "N'awlins Style."
Rick is an educated musician who originally arrived in New Orleans playing with the U.S. Navy Band. While stationed there he made many connections with the fine musicians living and working there. These connections would eventually lead him to gigs with Bob Hope, Henry Mancini, Dr. John, The Temptations, Steve Allen, Rosemary Clooney, The Dukes of Dixieland, Al Hirt, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, “Gatemouth” Brown, Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, Harry Connick Jr. and a host of others too numerous to mention. In other words, Rick has been around. With gigs as diverse as Dixieland bands on Steamboats, floating up the Mississippi River, Brass Bands marching in Mardi Gras parades, Blues bands on Bourbon Street, Funk bands down on Frenchman Street, jammin‘ with Gatemouth Brown at the House of Blues, Broadway shows such as “Chicago,” private parties, weddings, swingin’ big bands and small bands alike, Rick has acquired a flexibility not easily denied. |
