Robertinho Silva, legendary Brazilian drummer and percussionist, has been active since the days of the Bossa Nova movement, and is today considered an instrumental soloist. For 25 years, he performed and recorded alongside the great singer/songwriter Milton Nascimento.

In his solo career he has recorded with some of Brazil’s most important musicians, including Tom Jobim, Egberto Gismonti, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira and Chico Buarque. In 1974, saxophonist Wayne Shorter invited him to the U.S.A. to record the disc “Native Dancer”. Since then, he has recorded with the likes of George Duke, Ron Carter, Paul Horn, Cal Tjader, and Sarah Vaughn. In 2005 he recorded with guitarist George Benson.
